Copper mixture containing 95% pure copper or more. Items with foreign materials (solder, plating, primer, phosphor bronze).
Iron, aluminum, and stainless steel should not be mixed-in. The grade should also be free of combustibles (such as plastic, etc.).

It is said to be the most distributed scrap among copper-related scraps since it may be factory-generated as well as daily life derived. It is often imported from overseas to Japan and often known as called Birch / Cliff.
原料になるまでの工程
The collected No. 2 copper (Birch/Cliff) is visually checked to make sure there isn`t excessive amounts of combustibles, oil, foreign substances, more than what the regulation allows.
The carefully inspected No. 2 copper will then be loaded onto trucks and delivered mainly to copper smelters.
