The gunmetal is used for these valves with the core in the middle. The ones with the manufacturer's name written vertically are brass valves.
No plastic, stainless steel, or iron attached.
Gunmetal has good castability and excellent corrosion resistance and wear resistance, thus it is also used for bearings and works of art.
Among them, as the name suggests, the valve gunmetal originates from water valve units.
The recovered valve gunmetal is first spread on a sorting table and checked for iron contamination with an iron piece detector. At the same time, a visual check is performed to check if there are any foreign materials such as stainless steel or plastic.
The valve gunmetal that has been inspected is packed in a flexible container, then finally inspected again with an iron piece detector before delivered to the manufacturer as a metal raw material.
The valve gunmetal delivered to the manufacturer is melted and cast in a reverberatory furnace or electric furnace to manufacture ingots. They will then be reproduced into new valves and water meters.
