Origin
Water meters are installed in each home but must be replaced every 8 years. Since the exchanged items are managed by the government, they are often put up for bidding and sales.
There are various types of different shapes, sizes, and materials (gunmetal, leadless gunmetal, eco-brass, etc.), and they are used according to their respective purposes. The material also varies depending on the age of use.

The dismantled water meters are sorted according to the material (gunmetal, leadless gunmetal, eco-brass, etc.). Removal of non-metal items such as plastic and glass is required.
Also, the 13mm caliber has a stainless steel pin inside thus removing it with a special tool is necessary. It is a very time-consuming task because they can only be disassembled one by one by hand.
The finished water meter is packed in a flexible container and shipped to the manufacturer as a metal raw material.
Manufacturer
Water meters delivered to manufacturers are melted and cast in reverberatory furnaces and electric furnaces to manufacture square ingots.
Such semi-finished products will be cast into valves and water meters.
